Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania was proud to be the primary sponsor of the United Way of York County’s Day of Action 2014. More than 500 volunteers came together to work on projects throughout the community, and our employees took part by replanting and mulching flower beds at the Lehman Center’s Children’s Aid Society. Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania’s $5,000 donation helped to ensure the success of the largest community-wide volunteer event in York County.
The York County Literacy Council’s Buck-A-Book Reading Program motivates students in 14 York County school districts and early learning centers to read and become involved in community service. Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania is honored to once again sponsor this worthwhile endeavor for the children of our community.
Columbia Gas employees and Digger Dog
bring smiles to children’s faces during the annual Peters Township Touch-a-Truck event in Washington County. Children had an opportunity for fun interaction with a wide variety of trucks, construction vehicles and public safety vehicles.
Columbia Gas employees in Bradford partnered with CARE for Children to provide labor and machinery for the facility’s new accessible playground, geared toward children aged two to seven with all abilities. Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania’s new safety mascot Digger Dog™ attended the ground breaking for the new playground, reminding Bradford residents to make the free call to 811 at least three days before digging work begins.
