How to apply and qualify for your rebate

  1. Check, before beginning an energy efficiency upgrade, check the qualifying measure lists below as well as ensuring all of these qualifying criteria are met:
    • Rebate only available to existing residential customers of Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania. Account Owner must be a Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania customer at the time of new equipment purchase. 
    • Available rebates are for new measures (not refurbished or used) in the original packaging, must be replacements of existing equipment and must be purchased and installed at the Account Owner’s service address by a Qualified Contractor doing business in the applicable field (e.g., insulation installer, plumber, HVAC technician, or electrician) with the exception of a smart thermostat which can be installed by Owner. Insulation rebates must include both insulation and air sealing measures in order to qualify for the rebate. New construction and additions to the home’s square footage do not qualify for rebates. The rebate application must be received within 120 days of purchase and installation or by December 31, 2025, whichever is sooner.  
    • Account Owner or Property Owner is responsible for obtaining all required permits related to the installation of new measures.  
    • Account Owner may receive a rebate for up to two smart thermostats within a 3-year period at the same service address. 
    • Primary heat source for the energy efficiency equipment must be natural gas. 
    • Rebate quantities are limited and are approved on a first come first served basis. The Energy Efficiency Rebate program offerings are not guaranteed. Program funding is limited to levels approved by Pennsylvania’s Public Utility Commission. 
  2. Install your upgraded energy equipment. For your convenience, we have a list of qualified contractors; however, you are free to use any Qualified Contractor of your choice. 
  3. Apply, once your new equipment is installed, you can complete your application online or by printing and mailing it (see information below).
