The Hardship Program, an assistance program provided for Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania customers and administered by Dollar Energy Fund, is a fund of last resort for eligible households who have exhausted all other sources of energy assistance and still have trouble paying their utility bills.
You could get a grant to help pay off past-due bills or restore service. This program is available if you have exhausted all other available assistance programs. To find out if you qualify for a grant, call us at 1-800-537-7431.
The income eligibility limit for the 2023-2024 program is 200 percent of the federal poverty income guidelines. This means that an individual with an annual income of up to $29,160 is eligible to apply. A family of four can earn an annual income of up to $60,000. Applications will be accepted on a first come, first served basis through September 30, 2024 or until funds are depleted.

Dollar Energy Fund, Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania's fuel fund program, is a fund of last resort for households who have exhausted all other sources of assistance and still have trouble paying their heating bills. The fund is supported through donations from Columbia Gas customers and matching contributions from Columbia Gas.
You can make a monthly or one-time contribution by completing the Dollar Energy Fund contribution form on the bottom of your Columbia Gas bill and returning it along with your payment.
