Get rewarded for being energy efficient
This program rewards customers when they replace less efficient equipment with higher efficiency equipment on a one-to-one basis.
Only small commercial customers who pay the Energy Efficiency Rider (found under the “Detail Charges” section of your Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania bill) are eligible to take advantage of this rebate program.
Applying is straight-forward. Be sure to read through the information below so you don’t experience any delays. You’ll receive your rebate check in 6-8 weeks after we receive all the required information for qualifying measures*.

What qualifies for a rebate?

Program guidelines
Review the program guidelines and be sure to read and accept the Program Terms and Conditions that are included with the online application.
- Available rebates are for new measures/equipment (not refurbished or used) in the original packaging, must be replacements of existing natural gas equipment and must be purchased, installed and operational at the Account Owner’s Service location that is linked to the account listed. Installation of measures must be installed by a qualified contractor who is doing business in the applicable field (e.g., energy consultant/contractor, insulation installer, plumber, HVAC technician, or electrician) with the exception of a smart thermostat.
- Rebate applications received in the calendar year of 2026 must be for measures purchased and installed during that year.
Beginning January 1, 2027, the rebate application must be received within 120 days of purchase and installation of qualifying measures or by December 31, 2028, whichever is sooner. - Amount of rebate paid cannot exceed 100% of the total installed measure cost.
Total costs may include only materials and labor. - Rebates are limited and available on a first-come first serviced basis. The rebate amounts and Program Terms and Conditions are subject to change or termination at any time without prior notice at the discretion of Columbia Gas.
- Keep a copy of the application and all of your supporting documentation for your records.
- Columbia Gas is not responsible for any taxes that may be imposed on you as a result of your receipt of a rebate. Rebates may be taxable to you. Consult your tax advisor with any questions concerning the taxability of the rebates paid to you.
Installation and necessary information
Install the measures and be sure to gather the necessary information in order to complete your application. Things like:
- Retailer/Qualified Contractor name, address and phone number
- Purchase date and installation date (by a qualified contractor with the exception of a smart thermostats)
- The Itemized final paid in full invoice detailing material cost including quantity, size (if applicable), manufacturer and model number, the manufacturer’s specification sheet and/or other important information found within each measure application specifications
- A Qualified Contractor proposal cannot be used as a paid invoice.
- Account Owner, property owner and/or authorized business representative must sign rebate application. Must provide the correct taxpayer identification number, as well as a signed and completed W-9 if required.
