To be Eligible:
- Household must have assigned its LIHEAP Cash grant to Columbia Gas during the 2025-2026 program year.
- Household must have received a termination notice from Columbia Gas dated February 1, 2026 or later.
- Household must be authorized to receive Crisis Program funds. The maximum benefit for the 2025-2026 program year is one thousand dollars ($1,000).
The process for Eligible Households:
- Household information is submitted by Columbia Gas to the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services for review.
- Terminations are suspended pending review and decision by the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services regarding the grant application.
- The Pennsylvania Department of Human Services reviews the submission and notifies Columbia Gas of the decision regarding the grant application.
- If the grant is approved, the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services issues a Notice of Eligibility to the household, indicating the approved grant amount and the name of the utility to which the payment will be made on behalf of the household.
