To accommodate a Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) bridge replacement project on Weyman Road, Columbia Gas and its contractor, NPL Construction Company, on Aug. 1 finished a significant pipeline relocation project on Weyman and Provost Roads in Whitehall Borough, Allegheny County.
PennDOT’s plans called for the replacement of the existing bridge structure, which required Columbia Gas to relocate more 2,300 feet of existing natural gas mainline. With that work successfully completed, PennDOT has now begun its planned construction work, road closures and detours. For more information on the Weyman Road Bridge Replacement, please visit PennDOT’s website at https://www.penndot.pa.gov/regionaloffices/district-11/pages/details.aspx?newsid=6712.
As with any road construction project, motorists traveling through any work zones should exercise extreme caution and be prepared for slowed or temporarily stopped traffic. Motorists and should keep a safe distance between vehicles, reduce speed in work zones, and obey flaggers and all posted signs, including detours and parking restrictions.
