Potter Township Volunteer Fire Department Fire Chiefs Victoria C. and Jim G. emphasize the importance of seamless partnership between natural gas utility workers and emergency first responders.

Emergency Responders“Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania’s training center promotes an environment that fosters collaboration between first responders and utility workers. While we further teamwork principles with Columbia employees, we gain a better perspective and further insight into each other’s strengths.

This facility also allows different fire departments to work alongside each other while we review safety procedures, which helps us all become more fluid in future situations that require us to work hand-in-hand.

Inside the classroom, we strategize and plan accordingly while reviewing mock scenarios. At its core, the training center exemplifies safety, and is a symbol and reminder of safety for the surrounding community. Our younger first responders comprehend important safety messages that they use for the rest of their lives and throughout their careers.

We are excited about this facility, and the ability to work with Columbia Gas employees. Together we can implement better teamwork, improve preparation and welcome greater opportunities to our surrounding communities.”
