Columbia Gas Supports Veterans

This Veterans Day, Columbia Gas Pennsylvania’s Veteran employee resource group donated $2,500 funded from the NiSource Charitable Foundation to For the Love of a Veteran in support of the non-profit’s Fill a Boot program, providing care packages to deployed military personnel from the York community.

“In recognition of Veterans Day, Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania is honored to have the opportunity to partner with For the Love of a Veteran to provide monetary support for their Fill a Boot program,” said Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania Operations Center Manager Brian Scutta. “This donation and volunteering with For the Love of a Veteran is extra special to us, because two of our York employees are currently deployed with the Air National Guard.”

“Thanks to the support of the community and local companies, like Columbia Gas, we have been able to support thousands of deployed troops and have supplied hundreds of care packages for homeless veterans,” said For the Love of a Veteran Executive Director Christine Waltz. “At For the Love of a Veteran, our mission is to help those who selflessly protect us every day.”

If community members would like to donate care package items for local, homeless veterans and deployed troops, For the Love of a Veteran will be at the collecting donated items this Saturday, November 9 at the Chili’s parking lot in Hanover (370 Eisenhower Drive, Hanover, PA 17331).
