This Veterans Day, Columbia Gas Pennsylvania’s Veteran employee resource group donated $5,000 funded from the NiSource Charitable Foundation to Pittsburgh Hires Veterans in support of education, training and employment assistance for Veterans.

“In recognition of Veterans Day, Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania is honored to have the opportunity to partner with Pittsburgh Hires Veterans to provide employment assistance and training services to Western Pennsylvania Veterans and families,” said Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania General Manager and veteran Mike Davidson.

Pittsburgh Hires Veterans is providing a critical service; Pennsylvania has the nation's fourth largest veteran population and approximately 80,000 veterans reside in Allegheny County alone.

“Pittsburgh Hires Veterans is unique in that we provide assistance to Veterans, as well as support transitioning military members, National Guard, Reserve and military spouses,” said Pittsburgh Hires Veterans Executive Director Dayna Brown. “Thanks to donor funding, the services we provide are completely free to the veteran and to the employer. We genuinely care about the well-being of our veterans and provide personalized, one-on-one services including career counseling, personal job referrals, resume assistance, military experience translation, job searching, networking techniques, interview practicing and more.”

Pittsburgh Hires Veterans is hosting their 2019 Annual Update and Fundraiser on Veterans Day, Monday, November 11, 2019 from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at The Duquesne Club (325 Sixth Avenue, Pittsburgh PA 15222).
