Washington County-based nonprofit provides support for local youth in need

CANONSBURG, Pa. – Representatives from Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania presented a donation of more than $3,500 to the Olivia Scott Foundation, a Washington County-based nonprofit that provides support to youth in need.

Throughout 2017, Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania employees based in the City of Washington have raised more than $500 from fellow co-workers to support the Olivia Scott Foundation. Columbia Gas contributed an additional $3,000 to add to the funds raised by the employees.

“All money donated by Columbia Gas and all funds we raise stay in southwestern Pennsylvania,” said Olivia Scott Foundation founder Marc Scott. “Donations are used to help support area youth who are in life threatening or life altering situations. We raise money throughout the year to provide support ranging from stockings for Children’s Hospital patients to scholarships.”

“Our Columbia Gas employees are dedicated to giving back to the local community,” said Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania Senior M&R Technician Mike Meeks. “The Olivia Scott Foundation exemplifies that by helping local youth. We hope this donation helps those who are not as fortunate as we are.”

Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania distributes natural gas to approximately 45,000 customers in Washington County. Learn more about our commitment to community support.
