Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania Service Restorations Nearly Complete in Rostraver Township, Pa.

Thursday, November 23, 2017

On Wednesday, November 22, 2017, Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania experienced a drop in pressure on a natural gas distribution line in Rostraver Township, Pa. As a result of this drop in pressure, the company temporarily interrupted service to approximately 400 customers in the Rostraver/Belle Vernon area to ensure that the system was and remains safe and functioning properly.

Company technicians went door-to-door throughout the evening on November 22, shutting off service individually for affected customers. The system was restored at approximately 9 p.m. on Wednesday, November 22, and crews were dispatched to re-establish service to customers’ homes, perform safety checks and relight gas appliances. Service was restored to all available customers at approximately 4:30 a.m.

For the customers who were not at their homes during the initial service restoration process, door hangers have been left at their homes informing them of the outage and requesting they call Columbia Gas at 1-888-460-4332 for a service technician to be dispatched to restore service to their homes.
