Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania employees rehabilitate a City of Washington home with Rebuilding Together Pittsburgh

Utility presents $5,000 donation to assist in necessary home-safety repairs

Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania employee volunteers partnered with non-profit organization, Rebuilding Together Pittsburgh, to rehabilitate a home in the City of Washington recently. Approximately a dozen Columbia Gas employees volunteered to complete necessary home improvements including the installation of new laminate flooring, wall patching, painting and waterproofing work.

Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania donated $5,000 to Rebuilding Together Pittsburgh, providing not only power through volunteering, but also the funds required to repair the City of Washington home.

“Much like Rebuilding Together Pittsburgh, Columbia Gas is committed to keeping customers safe and comfortable in their own homes,” said Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania General Manager Mike Davidson. “Even simple modifications to a home can greatly improve safety. We admire the work of Rebuilding Together Pittsburgh and their aim to improve the lives and living conditions of low-income homeowners. ”

The benefiting City of Washington, Rebuilding Together Pittsburgh client and Columbia Gas customer also qualified for the utility’s WarmWise Audits & Rebates program. Through WarmWise Audits & Rebates the customer will receive a free home energy audit, an energy-efficiency plan with estimated cost savings, when appropriate a programmable thermostat and up to $1,800 worth of rebates for the installation of audit-recommended measures.
