Bethel Church Road to Close June 19 as Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania Pipeline Upgrade Continues in Bethel Park

Thursday, June 15, 2017

Bethel Church Road will be closed in both directions between Fort Couch and McMurray roads beginning June 19 as Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania replaces more than 2.6 miles of 16-inch steel mainline pipe along Bethel Church Road in Bethel Park.

Motorists traveling on Bethel Church Road will follow posted detours using Fort Couch, Washington and McMurray roads.  Road closures are expected to last through early fall.

Motorists traveling through the Columbia Gas work zone should exercise caution and be prepared for slowed or temporarily stopped traffic.  Motorists should keep a safe distance between vehicles, reduce speed in work zones, and obey flaggers and all posted signs including detours and parking restrictions.

The Columbia Gas gas pipeline replacement began in March and also includes the construction of a new regulator station on Bethel Church Road and the upgrading of an older regulator station on Milford Drive.  Work will take place Monday through Fridays, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., weather permitting. When completed, the project will benefit more than 40,000 customers in the Bethel Park and surrounding communities.
