Utility matches fundraising efforts with additional $10,000 contribution

The Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania employees joined hundreds of participants to walk three miles around Mount Macrina Manor in Uniontown Saturday, April 29, during the Fayette County March for Babies event. The event is the largest fundraiser for the March of Dimes which helps fund lifesaving research and educational programs aimed at helping moms have healthy, full-term pregnancies and healthy babies.

Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania employees who participated in the event called themselves the “Rattle Rockers” and encouraged co-workers, family members and neighbors to rally behind the important cause, raising over $12,000 for the March of Dimes. In addition to the $12,000 raised by employees, the Company made an additional $10,000 donation to the non-profit organization.

“Columbia Gas employees and families are honored to advance the mission of the March of Dimes,” said Columbia Gas Vice President and 2017 March for Babies Co-Chair Mike Davidson. Mike is also a Uniontown resident and native. “The March for Babies event gives everyone in our community the chance to make a difference in the lives of millions of babies.”
