Mike Huwar

President, Columbia Gas of Maryland and Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania
Mike Huwar was appointed President of Columbia Gas of Maryland and Pennsylvania effective February 13, 2017. Columbia Gas of Maryland, Inc. and Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania , Inc. are subsidiaries of NiSource Inc. NiSource is one of the largest fully-regulated utility companies in the United States, serving approximately 3.5 million natural gas customers and 500,000 electric customers.

In his role as president, Huwar is responsible for designing and executing legislative, regulatory, and external strategies with a focus on delivering safe, reliable and efficient natural gas customer service to more than 456,000 customers in Maryland and Pennsylvania through its engaged and committed employees.

Huwar re-joined NiSource Inc. after serving as vice president of marketing for Columbia Midstream, a subsidiary of Columbia Pipeline Group. Huwar’s career at Columbia Gas began in 1986, and prior to joining Columbia Midstream, he served as vice president and general manager at Columbia Gas of Virginia. His experience also includes a variety of leadership positions in sales and customer relations across the NiSource gas distribution companies. 

A Fayette County, Pa. native from Perryopolis, Huwar earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Pittsburgh and completed an executive leadership training program at The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He is a graduate of Leadership Pittsburgh. 

He is member of the Marcellus Shale Coalition Executive Board of Directors and previously served on the board of directors for the Virginia Utility Protection Services (VUPS), Virginia’s one-call center. He is also a past board member for the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Architects, Land Surveyors and Geologists. 

Mike Davidson

Vice President and General Manager, Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania and Columbia Gas of Maryland
Mike Davidson is the vice president and general manager of Columbia Gas of Maryland and Pennsylvania. Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania, Inc. and Columbia Gas of Maryland, Inc. are subsidiaries of NiSource, Inc., a Fortune 500 energy holding company based in Merrillville, Ind. Davidson was named vice president and general manager in August 2013.

In his current role, Davidson is responsible for field operations, measurement and regulation, corrosion and leakage for the distribution systems that provide safe, reliable and efficient natural gas distribution service to more than 450,000 customers in Pennsylvania and Maryland.

Prior to 2013, Davidson served as the Vice President of Customer Operations for NiSource Gas Distribution where he was responsible for providing operational services and support for the six Columbia Gas distribution companies. Functions in the Customer Operations Group include: business improvement, customer programs, customer contact centers, meter-to-cash, work force planning, integration center, and application development and support.

Davidson began his career with Columbia Gas and NiSource in 1996 and has held positions of increasing responsibility. Prior to his current role, Mike led all NiSource contact center operations for nine local distribution companies, serving nearly four million customers.

Davidson earned a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology from Point Park University - Suma Cum Laude, and a master’s degree in Public Management from Carnegie Mellon University - Highest Distinction. He also holds a Six Sigma black belt certification from the University of Michigan, College of Engineering.

Davidson's career also includes five years of service with the United States Air Force.

Andrew Tubbs

Vice President, External and Customer Affairs, Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania and Maryland
Andrew Tubbs serves as Vice President, External and Customer Affairs for Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania and Maryland (CPA/CMD), and has overall responsibility for Regulatory, Government Affairs, Communications, Community Engagement and Municipal Relations in both states.

Tubbs previously held the position of Senior Counsel supporting the CPA/CMD Regulatory teams in matters before the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) and Maryland Public Service Commission (PSC).

Prior to joining NiSource, Tubbs held the following roles:

  • Attorney in Post & Schell P.C.’s Energy Practice Group, representing electric and gas utility clients before the Pennsylvania PUC and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC)
  • Member of staff at Pennsylvania PUC where he was actively involved in efforts to restructure Pennsylvania’s electric and natural gas industries
  • In-house counsel for the Pennsylvania Rural Electric Association and Allegheny Electric Cooperative, Inc.

Tubbs earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pittsburgh and a Juris Doctor from Widener University School of Law. He is a native of Warren, Pennsylvania.
