Cold Weather Minute: What To Do If You Smell Gas

December 29, 2010

If you suspect a natural gas leak there are certain safety measures you must take. If you smell gas inside your home, get out immediately. Do not turn anything on or off, including light switches. If you suspect a leak outside, turn off any motorized equipment you might be using. In both situations it is important to leave the area quickly and warn others to stay away as well. From a safe location, call 911. To learn more about natural gas safety, visit www.ColumbiaGasPa.com.
