Columbia Gas Encourages Customers to Utilize New Rebates to Upgrade Furnaces and Water Heaters

PA Home Heating Equipment Rebate Program offers rebates up to $500

Canonsburg, PA – Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania, Inc., encourages customers to utilize the newly opened Pennsylvania Home Heating Equipment Rebate Program to upgrade old, inefficient furnaces and water heaters with new, energy efficient equipment.
Opened today, the PA Home Heating Equipment Rebate Program provides rebates, ranging from $100 to $500, to homeowners for upgrading non-electric home heating and water heating equipment.
Columbia Gas customers are encouraged to consider the efficiency and age of their furnaces and water heater, the two appliances that use nearly 50 percent of the energy consumed in a home, and utilize the new rebate program to upgrade their home heating and water heating equipment.
“This program provides a tremendous incentive to homeowners to replace inefficient home heating equipment with modern, efficient appliances that will help reduce home energy bills,” said Mark Kempic, Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania Director of Rates and Regulatory Policy.
Customers are encouraged to obtain a reservation for funds by visiting www.PaHeatingRebates.com, or by calling 877-592-2061. While not required, it is strongly recommended that customers obtain a reservation prior to purchasing the new equipment to ensure rebate funds are still available. Rebates must be redeemed, with the new equipment purchased and installed, within 30 days of the reservation. The new equipment must be installed by a Pennsylvania-registered contractor.
The Pennsylvania Home Heating Equipment Rebate Program is funded by the 2009 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) and operated by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection.
