CANONSBURG, PA – Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania, Inc. and Columbia Gas of Maryland, Inc. (Columbia) today announced that employees raised more than $90,000 in contributions through the company’s 2012 United Way Campaign.

More than three hundred Columbia employees participated in the 2012 campaign, with contributions to be distributed to local organizations supported by the United Way throughout Columbia’s service territory.

“Every year I’m more and more impressed with our employees’ generosity,” said Columbia President, Mark Kempic. “Columbia is committed to making the communities we serve and where our employees live a better place and our employees play a key role in making that difference”

Many employees elected to have their donations directed to organizations - senior programs and energy assistance organizations - that not only mirror the communities and the customers Columbia serves but also aligns with and supports its mission of providing customers with safe and reliable natural gas service.
